THE TUREEN, COVER AND UNDER PLATE ARE IN EXCELLENT MINT CONDITION.  THERE ARE NO CRACKS, CHIPS OR CRAZING ….. APPEARS UNUSED.  THE COBALT BLUE AND MEISSEN STYLE PATTERN,  UNDER-GLAZED ON FINE TRANSLUCENT PORCELAIN,  DISPLAYS GREAT QUALITY!

THE BOWL  MEASURES 12 1/4 INCHES FROM HANDLE TO HANDLE END, THE OPENING UPON WHICH THE COVER SITS IS 8 1/2  BY 6 1/4  INCHES; AND BY ITSELF, STANDS 5 3/8 INCHES IN HEIGHT. THE UNDER PLATE IS 13 INCHES FROM END TO END AND 9 1/2 INCHES TO THE SIDES. ALTOGETHER  THE TUREEN STANDS 9 3/4 INCHES TO THE LID HANDLE.

*****THE BLUE ONION DESIGN IS A GROUPING OF SEVERAL FLORAL MOTIFS, WITH JAPANESE PEACHES AND POMEGRANATES ALONG THE RIM  …..  AND IN THE CENTER, STYLIZED PEONIES AND ASTERS, THEIR STEMS, IN FLOWING CURVES, WINDING AROUND A BAMBOO STALK.  MEISSEN WAS ONE OF THE FIRST IN EUROPE TO PRODUCE THIS PATTERN IN THE 1700’s.
